[TUTORIAL] How to change Tape ID for a tapeless workflow in Avid
The usual way to change a Tape ID (that I knew of) was to highlight the clips in a bin whose info you wanted to change, right-click and go to MODIFY.
Today I tried out our tapeless workflow with the Canon XF305. For some reason, the old way of changing Tape ID doesn’t work. It comes up with the message ‘Unable to change the source on clip’.I’ve seen similar reports on the Avid forums.
I then discovered a new way: (thanks to a video that I now can’t find - apologies to the author of this!)
1. Highlight your list of clips in your AMA bin
2. Hover your mouse over the Tape ID column in the bin and right click. (If you can’t see a Tape ID column, make sure you are on the ‘text’ tab of the bin.
3. Select ‘Set TapeID column for selected clips…’
4. Now a little box pops up with a text field to put you’re tape ID in.
